The Other Box and Card Set

I mentioned in my last post that I had 2 friends who had birthdays this week.   This is the box and card set that I made for the other friend.  I'll admit that this card is not very bulky -- just one layer of dimensional adhesive under the panel and 3 rhinestones, but I really liked the look of the glassine bag on the back of the box.  Like I said in my earlier post, this method could handle a card with a lot more bulk.  The card design came directly from this card by Maile Belles.

Here is the card tucked in place on the back of the box:
Colors used:  Enchanted Evening (PTI), Rustic White (PTI), Onyx Black (Versafine), Copic markers
Stamps used:  Quilled Elegance

Another Make It Monday

It's fun to have the chance to make a couple more entries for Make It Monday this week.  I'm making the most of a long weekend.  This weekend, I had the chance to celebrate the birthdays of a couple of special friends.  This is the card/box set I made for one of them.  (In the box, by the way, are the most AMAZING brownies.   You can find the recipe for them here from the Pioneer Woman.   Go look, but I promise you'll be hungry.)
My solution for the card here would work for cards with much more bulky embellishments than I have here.  It was even more of a solution, in this case, because I needed a place for the card.  So here's the solution:
I trimmed a glassine bag to fit the back of the gift box.  I attached the bag to the box with strips of Scor Tape.  (Do me a favor and pretend that I didn't forget to make sure the bag's seam was facing the back -- duh!)    It really like the way the coordinating card still shows through the bag.

Stamps used:  Rosie Posie, Fabulous Frames, Quilled Elegance (LOVE that font!)
Colors used:  Berry Sorbet (PTI), Pure Poppy (PTI), Onyx Black (Versafine)
The box is one of my very favorite Sillhouette cut files.

Thanks for stopping by!

Make It Monday #100

The Make It Monday challenge this week over at Papertrey is to package cards that have oversized embellishments.    I'll have to admit that I stayed very close to Dawn's sample for this one, and even patterned my card after another card that she made lately that I loved.  The glassine bag is nice for this project not only because the button and ribbon at the top of the card are bulky, but also because it's a nicer wrapping for the gift card inside than a simple envelope would be.  Hopefully, our niece will enjoy opening this gift!
Here's the card that's tucked inside.  Like I said, this is very much like the one in this post by Dawn McVey.  She's a genius.  :)

Stamps used:  Quilled Elegance (just got it in the mail today!!!)
Ink/Paper colors used:  Island Indigo (SU), Concord Crush (SU), Raspberry Fizz (PTI), Lucky Limeade (SU)
