Papertrey 7th Anniversary Building Blocks Challenge #1

Today's challenge had participant rolling the dice to create cards.  Here were my results that led to this card:

I did chose to move the sentiment over to the right instead of centering it as the sketch showed, but other than that I stayed pretty true to the "directions."  

Papertrey 7th Anniversary Day 1 Challenge

 This card was a lot of fun to make.  The day 1 challenge is to create a card using both a sketch recipe and a color recipe provided in Nicole's download.  (I love the fact that the customers get these nice little gifts for Papertrey's birthday!)

The only change I made with the color recipe, is that I used Stampin' Up's Lucky Limeade ink because I don't have Simply Chartreuse ink.  

For stamps, I had lots of fun using Watercolor Wonder.  I have been wanting that set since it was released and finally bought it with my most recent order.  It is just as much fun as I had expected.    The sentiment is from Everyday Happiness.   And I was thrilled to see how well the Pear Pizzazz (SU) seam binding worked with these colors.  These colors just make me happy.

Anniversary Day 4, #2

For my second trading card, I decided to make a card that could work with almost any set of pictures.   I tried out the chalkboard technique that Heather had demonstrated on her blog a while back and broke in my new Way to Go, Kiddo stamp set (combined with the Simply You set).    I was glad that this technique calls for a little ink smudging because I simply cannot emboss with white on black (or, in this case, Smokey Shadow) without getting extra smudges of embossing powder where I don't want them.  One day I will conquer the static.  One day.

Papertrey Anniversary Day 4 Challenge

Today's challenge was issued in celebration of the new Monthly Moments product line that Heather is introducing.  The challenge was to create a 3" x 4" trading card that could be adapted for a card or layout.  I had some recent pictures from our "big" snow at the end of January, so I decided to make my first card work with those pictures.  I used Vintage Cream card stock, Scarlet Jewel ink, card stock, and Bitty Dot paper.  I don't have many snowflakes in my collection (but we really don't get that much snow in NC!), so I had to dig through and find snowflakes in the Places Please and Tiny Treats:  Christmas stamp sets.

Papertrey Anniversary Day 2, card #3

...and here is card #3 for today.  This tag was designed by Melissa Bickford.  This one has a Kraft base, a Hawaiian Shores layer and a Bitty Dots (Enchanted Evening) mat stack die cut.  I cut the sentiment banner from a second printout and popped it up on dimensionals.  Then I added some Papertrey rhinestones to the center of the flowers and a rub-on border to the Hawaiian Shores card stock.  I love the colors she chose for this one!

PTI Anniversary Day 2, card #2

Here is my second card from today's tag download.   This tag was designed by Lizzie Jones.  I punched the tag with a circle punch (I always appreciate tags that are this standard, punch-able size.) and layered it over a Limitless Layers die cut.  The balloons are clear-embossed with the Birthday Style stamp set.  Papers include Bitty Boxes (Berry Sorbet) and Hawaiian Shores.

Papertrey's 7th anniversary day 2 challenge, card #1

Day 2 of the Papertrey 7th Anniversary Celebration brings the announcement of the 2014 stamp design team.  (Yes, I am aware that I don't have a Day 1 post -- it's coming!)  I love this day because Nicole always shares a free printable page of tags -- one from each designer.  These are more and more lovely each year.  They're great for making simple, adorable cards.  You can find her post with the download here.

My first card for today's challenge uses Heather's tag.  I used one of the sketches from Stamp- a- faire to inspire the layout.  I added some sparkle to the hearts with my clear stardust pen and then added some dimension by covering them with Diamond Glaze.  Papers include Papertrey Kraft, Scarlet Jewel and Hibiscus Burst.k
